About Tamara

Sport has always been an important part of my life, I love being a part of a team and working towards a common goal. I have been involved in many sports such as netball and basketball, but volleyball has always been the sport I am most passionate about. It was through sport that I decided I wanted to become a physiotherapist, to help athletes, whether it is at a social or high level, and to get them back to doing what they love. I find working with patients to reach their goals and highest potential extremely rewarding, as I understand how disappointing having an injury can be.

I thoroughly enjoyed studying at University of Otago and gaining a Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree and knew I was going into an awesome profession. While at university I had the opportunity to be a sports medic for various rugby teams over the years. This has been a great way to expose myself to acute injuries and learn the progressions of returning to sport post injury.

In my spare time you’ll find me spending time with friends and family, playing sports, going to the gym and enjoying the outdoors. I also enjoy going back home to get on the water in the Marlborough sounds, in the boat or on the surfboard.
